Slav to the Rhythm
With influences ranging from exotica, funk, world music, electronica and dub reggae Slav to the Rhythm combines the raw energy of live keyboard performance with real-time sample manipulation to create an immersive and unique musical experience. Weaving together layers of intriguing melodies, sounds and samples, grooving basslines and dynamic percussion into a heady stew of original music and choice covers arranged and played live on the spot.
The setup is small but the sound is rich, complex with quirky references to film, retro trash vinyl and psychedelic soundtrack. This act came out of 2 years of experimentation, regular jamming, live looping and recording and is a new work. The result is a dynamic performance that ebbs and flows with the energy of the moment and where every turn is a serendipitous revelation, and every melody an adventure into the unknown.
